If you have lost your password or have just installed the tool on a new computer, you must restore the wallet. This is done either by the 12 word seed or by a file.

Restore wallet

# Step 1

Open Desktop Software and choose “Restore wallet”.

# Step 2

In the next window choose “Restore wallet via word seed”. The option of restoring through a file will be explained later in this guide.

# Step 3

Enter the word seed and press “Continue”. Type it in manually, so that no spaces are added when copying.

# Step 4

Enter the new password. It must contain at least 8 characters and should contain a lower case letter, upper case letter, number, special symbol. After pressing “Continue” you’ll be asked to write the same password again. Do that and press “Continue”

# Step 5

You will now be taken to the main login screen. Click on the arrow next to the “Pick your wallet” and choose the wallet you have just restored. It will be the last one on the list. Enter the new password and press “Unlock”. Remember – you can restore the same wallet multiple times. If you were to restore the wallet three times with a different password each time, then, when clicking on the arrow, you would see three wallet entries, but each could be unlocked with the password you created for it. Restore once and remember the password.

Restore from file

# Step 1

Restoring from file is different. You have to create the file before you lose your account. Just like the word seed, the created file must be guarded and protected, as it is a key to your account. Go to the “Settings” on the left side and choose “Backup wallet via file”.

# Step 2

It will ask for your password again. Type it in and press “Continue”

# Step 3

A message will now pop up that the file has been created in your Document folder. Upload this file to a safe storage device or an online account you are sure that can not get compromised. Remember to never use the same password in multiple accounts. Now you have prepared your file. If you want to restore the account via file, when opening the Software, choose “Restore wallet” and then “Restore wallet via file”.

# Step 4

Click on the three dots and navigate to the wallet file. If you had uploaded it to an online account, you will have to download it on your hard drive so that it can be located. After choosing your wallet file, click “Restore”.

# Step 5

You will now be taken to the main login screen. Click on the arrow next to the “Pick your wallet” and choose the wallet you have just restored. It will be the last one on the list. Enter the password and press “Unlock”. You have unlocked and accessed your wallet.
